Hey Guys, I thought I would try my hand with dual monitors so got out my old TFT to discover that the secondary connection on my graphics card was DVI. I then remembered I have an adaptor come with a graphics card for my sisters computer so I used that and it all works.

Are there any issues with dual monitors with one being VGA and the other DVI with an adaptor.

My Graphics card is a 256Mb ATI Radeon X1300PRO.

Cheers.

Also,

Can I extend the start bar onto the other screen or am I asking the impossible or just difficult?

Thanks in advance.

Windows wont natively allow a taskbar on both screens. I use 'ultramon' to manage dual screens - amongst other things it lets you have a taskbar on both. You can both bars show all open programs, or each only show what is open on each particular screen.

Beaten to it just!

Only thing I noticed with using DVI and VGA (with the same TFT monitors) is that the colour variation is a lot different and requires a lot of tweaking. Even with Dual DVI now I can notice a slight difference.

I do have to say the colour difference is very different. But also it is a different brand monitor, my main monitor is a Dell 19" and the second is a ViewSonic 17".

Two of the best monitors ever owned by me :D
