Dual or single channel?

I am buying a laptop from a website that is offering me the same price for either dual or single channel RAM.

My options are;

2048MB (2x1024) 667MHz DDR2 Dual Channel

2048MB (1x2048) 667MHz DDR2 Single Channel

What should I be going with? And what are the benefits?

Thanks

In theory 1x2GB means you can upgrade it later (if it has 2 slots) but it doesn't always work that way (potential compatibility issues with mixing different sticks).

2x1GB in dual is a bit faster yes but if you had a serious need for speed, I doubt you'd be buying a laptop. Still... you might as well buy 2x1GB, as 2GB is plenty for a "business" laptop used with Vista.
