Dual/Quad Channel and Triple Channel Kit.

Hi, the difference with the Dual Channel kit, is the extra module and the Triple Channel kit is one less module? Will the Triple Channel Kit work with Sandy Bridge if I brought one extra module?

Yes. The only difference between single/dual/triple/quad channel is the number of sticks.

Some memory is labelled to show that it was part of a kit (I’ve got Kingston memory that has ‘KIT OF 2’ on the labels) which can matter if you have to RMA it.

If I have two dual channel kits in, is this quad channel? Or would the chipset have to support it too.

Putting four sticks into a system which is dual channel is still dual channel.

I'm not quite sure now. The triple channel kit are version 5.11 and the single ram 1x4gb which you can get, is version 2.12? I saw this post http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94129 What version are the dual channel kits?

Do you already have the 3 stick kit?

If not then simplify your life and buy a 4 stick kit or 2x2 stick kits.

Oi oi I'm not all to clue these days, most of my knowledge is from when Athlon 64's were just coming out
