Hi guys,

I searched and looked at multiple sources for this topic so I think I know the answer but I just want someone to tell me I got it right :)

I have 16 gb of ram in mobo and I need to upgrade as I'm a heavy chrome tab user

I have https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...el-kit-black-cmk16gx4m4b3000c1-my-430-cs.html in my machine so I have 4 slots left to fill,

I am thinking of getting https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...hannel-kit-black-cmk16gx4m2b30-my-445-cs.html as its £20 cheaper and money's tight, they are both same timing just mine is quad and this is dual.

Would it work/stable? And would there be a performance hit?

What I've read said it would work but there might be stability issues is that right?

its hard to say yes or no to this. Meany ppl run any amount of sticks from 1 to 7 in a quad channel system with no problem, however in some systems/with some harder wear it just will not boot.
it could work fine but also may not its just down to how picky your board/cpu is.

IF... it dose work for you then NO there will be no performance hit in normal day to day tasks.

why not get a slower quad channel kit and run all at the slower speed
