I am running a set of Crucail Ballistix 2x 16GB 3600 16-18-18-38 kit, which is single-rank.
I am curious if it is 'worth' upgrading to take advantage of Dual-rank? One option would be to try and buy another matching set... but I think Crucial has discontinuned these now?
(And while I dont need 64GB, I could certainly make use of it. I run VMs on occasion)
Another option is to switch to known dual-rank set. Like this Corsair set: Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz C16
ITs currently £104
IT seems to run 16-20-20-38, but is Dual-rank .... so not sure what difference this would make in terms of performance?
The added benifit of going to these Corsairs is they use iCUE for RGB.... everything else in my system already does. Just the RAM needs the awful MSI Dragon Centre to control it.
I am confident I could sell on my existing memory for enough that the cost to change would be acceptable.
Appreciate thoughts / suggestions.
