Dual Rank - Worth 'upgrading' now prices coming down?

I am running a set of Crucail Ballistix 2x 16GB 3600 16-18-18-38 kit, which is single-rank.

I am curious if it is 'worth' upgrading to take advantage of Dual-rank? One option would be to try and buy another matching set... but I think Crucial has discontinuned these now?
(And while I dont need 64GB, I could certainly make use of it. I run VMs on occasion)

Another option is to switch to known dual-rank set. Like this Corsair set: Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz C16
ITs currently £104
IT seems to run 16-20-20-38, but is Dual-rank .... so not sure what difference this would make in terms of performance?

The added benifit of going to these Corsairs is they use iCUE for RGB.... everything else in my system already does. Just the RAM needs the awful MSI Dragon Centre to control it.

I am confident I could sell on my existing memory for enough that the cost to change would be acceptable.

Appreciate thoughts / suggestions.

I swapped out a single rank 32gb kit recently with 16-19-19 timings to a dual rank Samsung B-Die kit that will do 14-14-14 at the same 3600mhz speed.

The difference in some titles, such as MW2, was quite astonishing, like double-digit % improvements.

After selling my old kit, it cost me £20 so was definitely worth it, but I'd be looking for something that's not only dual rank but also has better timings to "maximise" the upgrade.

Which kit did you upgrade to? 14-14-14 sounds pretty amazing.

Im either looking for a no-RGB kit or a Corsair RGB kit. Totally done with Dragon Centre...

It was these, XMP is 16-16-16 but nearly every kit will tighten a bit further, mileage will vary though as I've just noticed you're on an AMD platform, I'm on Intel.

Thanks! Very tempted to pull the trigger on these.

How much tweaking did it take to hit 14-14-14? I am very novice when it comes to ram tunning, and tbh dont want to spend a great deal of time on it.

Did you do any testing at XMP? Im curious how much gains going from 16-16-16 to 14-14-14 had?

I didn't test them on C16, unfortunately. It didn't take long to dial them in, but did need to run a couple of extreme memory tests that take a few hours to make sure they are fully stable.

What was the timmings from your SR kit?
Did you run that stuff at XMP or also lower?

I had a set of 2x8 ballistix 3600hz 16-18-18-58 single rank swapped them for 2x16 ballistix 3600hz 16-18-18-58 dual rank so as apples to apple as your going to get and apart from a few points on benches couldn't notice any difference in games.
