Hi,
here is a fun one for you. I have a copy of Ubuntu 9.04 with 2.6.28-15 kernal and GNOME 2.26.1.
I am also one of the people that has problems with Intel graphics drivers, so i am running the old 8.10 drivers for it, compiz works amazingly (i know thats not a work!)

My problem is when i connect a second monitor i get the problem that i had when i trying running compiz on the new drivers, the screen goes all white, everything the taskbar, icons, mouse the cube when i rotate it. you can't see any thing you are clicking on, but the system does respond (i.e. i press ctrl alt down arrow and the white blob (my desktop) zooms out and pages round to the next white blob...

Does any one have an idea how to solve this ?

My 2 cents: It looks like when i try and use dual monitors that the system uses the new graphics drivers, I have not removed compiz to test if this is correct (as compiz on the new drivers did the same thing to my desktop) - i'm lazy and don't want to have to write down each setting for compiz before disabling it...

Please help ! i wanna have dual screens.... :(
