Dual screen problem!

I connected my new screen today (HDMI). I wanted to use the monitor to watch videos while gaming like I used to with my laptop but when ever I enter a game EG: Max Payne 3 the second monitor freezes on the frame it was on but audio continues. The game works fine..

Anyone give me a hand?

Does alt tabbing out the game fix the issue?

Yeah but the monitor freezes again as soon as I go back in game.
