I have a 23" monitor sitting in my garage not being used. It only has vga (but somehow supports 1080p... didnt think this was possible until i read up on it)

Anyway, it would be useful to use for work as a secondary display as i sometimes work from home. Before I go and fish it out.... will i run into any issues as my current monitor is a BenQ G2420HDBL dvi 1080p monitor - will i lose quality, or run at the lowest refresh rate if the Acer one is lower via vga? I do game on the PC and dont want to loose quality.

Model Number is: Acer X233H 23inch (although for some reason it lists it as having DVI, it definatly does not. It's from PC world, so this is probably why)

Most operating systems and graphics cards will simply add the second monitor running at independent resolution and refresh rates without any issue.

I currently have a matched pair of monitors both using DVI. But for a while I ran with one DVI and one VGA (although I used a DVI-VGA converter to connect to the GPU) with different resolutions. Win 7 handled it just fine, although moving the mouse from one screen to the other was a bit odd because of the change in resolution. But if both of your monitors are 1080p you shouldn't have that problem.
