Dual Screen - normals Vs widescreens

I'm looking to buy 2 19" tfts.

I thought I had it sorted with 2 Samsung 920Ns but after reading the thread about the Hanns-G HW191D i'm not sure.

Is anyone using dual widescreens, if so why over dual 4:3s when surely it would be better to gain some screen height.

2 x SM-920N = 2560*1024
2 x HW191D = 2880*900 + £70

Any advice would be appreciated.

Talking about single screens, width is better for some things, like movies, games (not always), programs like photoshop (again, not always) so you'd need to decide what you use it for. If you feel the height would be more beneficial for what you do with the screen then obviously go for that. You could use one widescreen and one standard monitor, providing your graphics card (and drivers) support it, not just locked into identical screens, so you could watch a movie while doing some image manip or whatever (never know :p).

I'm currently using a 15" tft with my laptop's 15".

Dragging things between the two is a bit strange as the external is 1024*768 and my laptop is 1400*1050.

Gaming and video watching is second to general uni work involving mainly programming, some web design.

I have dual 21" CRTs, hoping to swap to LCDs later when I can scrape the cash together, but quite frankly I don`t see the point of Dual Widescreens after all you want dual to have width... I max out one screen for 3D modeling use and use the other for a render screen or for Video editing spread across both. I use a seperate wide screen monitor for movies or games (hanns-g wonderful screen). I tried Dual widescreen with a friends just to see and I missed the height that dual 4:3's gave me.

I went from 1x 17" TFT and 1x 15" TFT to 2x 20" Widescreen TFT's and the hight different is only very slight so I dont really have anything to miss, but I now have a lot of width and its very handy, and gaming and movies are fantastic :)
