dual screen set up?

Hi all,

Have got a dual screen set up now and have some questions.

1. I don't need to use it all the time. When I turn off the second screen, I expected Windows to detect this and limit my mouse etc to just the main screen. But it doesn't, it still allows the mouse to move over to the screen which is switched off, and still opens programs on the screen that is turned off.

2. The second screen has a taskbar the same as the first screen. If I, for example, click to open firefox on the second screen, it still opens the window on the first screen. I then have to drag it over. Vice versa, if I then click on the first screen it jumps to the open version of firefox on the first screen. I want the program to open on the main screen if I use the taskbar on the main screen, and on the second screen if I open it from the second screen's taskbar.

Any tips please?

Thanks

1) Use Win + P to swap between 1 screen and 2 screens. The monitor still replies to the PC that it's there so even if it's off, the PC will still think it's on.

2) It will open on where the last window it was closed on, sadly this seems to be a Windows limitation. I usually have my second screen with Firefox, but when I usually close it I drag it to the main screen first to ensure it opens on the main screen next time.

Even if opens on the screen that isn't there the easiest way to do it is to open the program, WINDOWSKEY + LEFT/RIGHT CURSOR and it'll move over :D
