Dual Screen Setup

I have a 19" wide screen monitor with a max res of 1440 x 900
I am looking at buying a 24" screen.
Is it worth setting up dual screen with 2 different type of monitors?
or do I ditch the smaller one and just go single screen?

I have done exactly what you are planning.

Works fine

I did though eventually get two 24" monitors.

Actually I also have an old dell 19" that has a max res of 1200x768 or something.
Not sure what to do with it. Any ideas?
