Dual Sound cards

Hi All

Just a thought but would there be any benefit in having 2 sound cards in one PC?

The machine is being trown togetherfrom spare parts and the are two available, it will be used for sound recording of my brothers band.

Just more ports if you don't have enough on a single card or so, ie. a card with only 4 ports when you want 7.1 AND a microphone, you'll need to use a 2nd card for the mic...

I use the onboard sound card for voice chat and a SoundBlaster for game noises.
