Dual to Wide.

After using my WS laptop, im finding that my 2x 17" TFTs are a little limiting in resolution.
Has anyone here gone from dual screens to one high resolution screen? Was the difference noticable?

Also, if i was to get a single WS display, and have it as a center display, with it having a vertical height of 1050 pixels, and my other TFTs having a height of 1024 pixels, would it still look 'right'?

20" and 17" does look right, one of my 17" died and replaced it with a 20". I got used to it straight away, the 26 pixels difference is hard to tell unless you take a screenshot.
