hi

been having a few problems with my Hauppauge pvr500 in last few days so am going to sell it and get a new card.

Have decided to get freesat in July so am looking for a tv card (pref dual) to go into my media center pc (running microsoft mce).

Would appreciate recommendations as to what best card to get - need good pq as am really fed up with the rubbish quality was getting with last two hauppage cards.

Many thanks

The pvr-500 is a dual analogue card so I'm not surprised it doesn't look very good.
Afaik there isn't a dual tuner satellite pc card around atm (although I also would love one) but something to consider is that whatever card you get will probably need to have CAM support otherwise you'll be limited to just FTA channels rather than the FTV channels. You might be better off picking up a decent dual tuner DVB-T card instead.

Thanks for reply.

not sure what some of the abbreviations you use mean but cannot get freeview via aerial in this area thats why i'm going for freesat.

Just tested a pvr150 and picture was great - maybe sohuld just get two 150's.

FTV channels are ones which don't require a sky subscription but are encrypted so need a card, eg: channel 4, five, five us, five life and sky three.
