Hi all,

I have been running an LRT224, which was working brilliantly. I have 2 ISPs coming into the home, and was load balancing on it really well (getting decent combined download speeds and upload speeds, low latency, and importantly, OpenVPN which makes it a boon to connect to remotely).

However, it has died (it doesn't power up), so do I just order another LRT224 which seems to do the job or is there a more modern equivalent I could use?

Key elements, must be able to load balance / combine the bandwidth, and OpenVPN ideally.

If nothing else hits the mark, I'm more than happy to go back to the LRT224.

Many thanks.

If you were happy with it then keep things simple and just get a direct replacement.

Check it's actually dead first though, it might be just the power brick.

Yeah I've got the config saved. Ok that's what I was erring to - but just wondered if there were better makes or something else I should consider. Ta! :)

it's definitely dead - checked the power supply with a multimeter and it's fine. I checked the board and the dc socket is fine, must be a component failure (probably a voltage regulator or something similar).

I quite like the pfSense/Opnsense appliances but you're unlikely to get one for the same ballpark cost as replacing the Linksys

Cost isn't an issue. But I think as you say if what I had is a good solution then no point in Changing.

But I'll check out your recommendations anyway (I'm not a total novice!) And see if it may work as an alternative.

Thanks again!
