Ok im running Vista ultimate 64bit, with a 9800GX2 gfx card! My screens are an old samsung SM 19" tft and the Dell SP2309W!

Basicly the problem is i have no idea how to setup duel screen mode, and cant find it where it should be in nvidia control panel. i think maybe because its a GX2 and its SLI the monitors think there plugged into seperate cards instead of the same one if you know what i mean?

What can i do to get it working? cheers!

Luke

You can't run two screens when running SLI.

If you disable SLI you should be able to enable the second screen. I had thought they'd fixed that annoying feature of SLI though.

That shouldnt be a problem but maybe it is, do you have the option to enable a 2nd monitor in windows display properties (where you adjust the res) you need to have the screen plugged in at this stage.

That should work

i havnt got any options in nvidia control panel for a 2nd monitor, only option to choose which one i want to use. Heres a screenshot

Looks like the GX2 doesnt support dualscreen. damm shame!

Cheers, Luke

Will nVidia control panel not let you turn off SLI, my mates old 7950GX2 used to let you, so that you could still games that didn't support SLI well, be it with a lower frame rate.

yeah it does but my fps drops by 10-15 in warhammer online without SLI so really isnt work it :(

Ah well, new GPU soon by the looks of things lol... any recomendations? lol

It's just a case of when not in game you can run dual screen and when in game you can't.

It's just one of those SLI things. I probably wouldn't bother upgrading your graphics card. Surely you would see much of an FPS difference?

hi m8.

can you just go through how your screen are connected?

i only ask as sli is only available two ways for using 2 screens...

if one monitor is plugged into each card or each 1st dvi socket and you enable sli one screen will turn off.

if you plug screens in dvi 1 and its secondary dvi port and then turn on sli it wll enable you to turn on and extend the desktop in windows display settings

i have 2 8800gt in sli with 2 screens on and Vista ultimate 64bit and both of my screen are only plugged into the primary card.

i havent got the 9800x2 so cant comment on whether it has 2 or 4 dvi sockets.

if it has only 2 and both screens are connected what driver are you installing and have you tried to activate secondary screen in windows display settings rather than nvidia drivers control panel? as one you hav done that then go to nvidia drivers and enable sli

hope any of that made sense:)
