Dualshock 3 date for EU

Mine still lack a lot of resistance :(. Way too slack. If anything, my SA is slightly tighter on the sticks in terms of resistance, but my DS3 does, as you say, snap back quicker.

I was under the impression that the DS3 analogues were a bit better than on the sixaxis?
Something about the dead area being smaller?

Can anyone confirm?
If that's not the case then I'm not interested, I like the light feel of the sixaxis and I got over not having rumble after about 3 seconds.

I don't think they are, but everyone else says it is better on the DS3. I'd go with the majority and get one.

At £40 a pop, I'll hang back, should've grabbed one while I was in the US last week, but if it turned out to be faulty I'd be screwed, didn't want to take the risk.

You can get it for 34.99 delivered, online in the UK. Still cheaper to import though.

Sony DO replace controllers and I'd be surprised if they wouldn't for a region free peripheral too.

Then again, when was the last time anyone had a controller fatally stop working? Must be back in the N64 days from people overusing the joystick and that was over 10 years ago!
