dualshock 3 not shocking?

i know it sounds strange but how would i know if the dual shock 3 pad is not shocking,when i select on in the vibration option should the pad rumble?,the only game i have to test it out is gta san andreas and it doent rumble and i know its not the game because it rumbles in the ps2

Should work with PS2 games if you have the latest FW.
 
ive enabled it in the xmb before i entered the game if thats the same thing, i thought it should rumble when i enabled it there but it doesnt,testing in game just in case

edit; vibration function in game already set to on,still no joy

It shouldn't rumble when you turn it on. Just try a demo of one of the new PS3 games or something and it should rumble while you're playing (eg. shooting someone).
 
i would but i was at 3% of mercs 2 when i started to have connection problems and i cannot get it sorted,it says im connected to the network ok but when i perform a test i obtain an ip address but all i get is failed in the internet connection section and the connection is at 77-85%
 
as it turns out it is working,even though im having connection problems it still downloaded an update and its working brilliantly,thanks for the help everybody
