No matter my computer or gfx i ALWAYS have lots of issue to configure dualview on my computer + TV setup. But this time it's even wierder.

I have a GeForce 8800 GTS 512 gfx, a computer screen and a TV, that is connected on a VGA connector. Naturally i'd like to have my computer on the TV but i'm having difficulties. I have the latest Nvidia drivers and i use Windows Vista 64 bit, i also have Ubuntu on the hard drive.

Here comes the wierdness, when i try to setup dualview on vista it basically crashes, although my TV and my computer screen are correctly detected in the nvidia "crappy" panel but when i try to apply my dualview configuration, Windows crashes horribly and no picture ever gets on my TV, i just have to reboot my computer because i can not get it back.

If i try the same on my lovely linux Ubuntu everything works like a charm, i get my computer on the TV i can watch movies etc.. with absolutely no issues. I guess this is where you see how Linux is WAY better than Windows.

This is not the first time i have issues to setup dualview on my computer, thing is even with ANOTHER spec i still get the same issues, i often posted about it but it looks like i'm the only person in the world with this issues.

I guess no one will be able to help me because this is not the first time i post about it. But if someone can i say thanks ! :p

hold on its a bit late so i'll assume you have 2 monitors and want a nice setup?

click nvidia control panal ---> DISPLAY --> Set up multiple display's -> configured independently from each other (dualview)

thats what youve done?

give ultramon a try

What drivers are you using? Sounds more like a driver issue, seeing as it works in Linux.
Maybe the output to the TV is a resolution/refresh rate it can't cope with.
Ultramon is a good suggestion though.
