Hi all,

Probably going to have a few hours stop over at Dubai Airport but it is in the middle of the night (about 3am). Is there anything to do in the airport at that time?

Thanks

Daven

Hey, I've been to Dubai five times (four for 1-2 week breaks, and once for a stop over a month and a half ago). The stop-over was going there and coming back from Nairobi at 2/3am in the morning.

As the posters above said, it's a 24 hour airport. There are hundreds of people around. The things you can do are: eat, shop, browse, internet surf, or go to sleep on the benches, or walk from one end of the duty free to the other and back and forth.

Luckily my stopovers there were only three hours long and flights were on time. But I know of one of my cousins who came a few days later and he spent like 8 hours at the airport - really didn't like it, as he was the one coming to Nairobi for his own marriage. And another cousin was on the plane at Dubai for 4 hours after spending 3 hours in the airport. Not good.... </rant>

Exactly the same as any other major airport.

What a pointless thread.

errr some airports aren't really "open" at night and are pretty dead. So not really a pointless thread. If it is so pointless then why have you posted?

Thanks for the proper replies people.

Just to support Daven1986's post, Nairobi International Airport had nothing for me to do, apart from just sitting down and watching the hands of the clock turning slowly...

Dubai airport is lively... and I think you will like. When are you going, and what destination? Also have a look at the cars they have on "competition", and take some snaps or take snaps of other tourists taking snaps. :)

I flew with Emirates to Christchurch and had a long stopover in Dubai ,I was given a complimentry hotel room when we booked the flights

Going to Tanzania in Oct / Nov. Am also flying emirates :D

I remember having one of the nicest pizzas in Dubai airport the last time I went (about 6 years ago and in the daytime!)!

There is a nice bar at one end which has lots of different beers on draft! i am sure i saw signs for a gym and sauna as well.

Go through the duty free as many times as you can loading up on fags?
