Hi, I'm going to dublin in April with my girlfriend (she's 17) and i'm concerned that we are going to have probs in the pubs there gettin served and stuff. Can anyone confirm this or shed some light on this matter please.
I could get served at 16 in pubs. Bigger off licenses demand ID however.
If you look over 18, no one in the pub will care really. Although iv never been drinking in the city centre
aye I'm joking I don't think the bars in Dublin are any stricter or lenient than anywhere else I've drank. If you look over 18 and are dressed smartly I don't see a problem.
If you're going to be going around the touristey bars you probably will get ID'd. Last time I was drinking in Dublin we mostly stayed away from the tourist spots but once we went into the city (Temple Bar area in particular) I was ID'd in almost every bar and I'm 20, although I suppose I do look a bit younger.
i went to dublin for my 17th birthday weekend last year, never had any problems with ID in any of the local pubs we went to or any of the pubs and clubs we visited around temple bar
