Hello all,

Ive been running Ubuntu on my laptop for a few weeks now, and altho as an every day laptop i am very happy with it, but after trying Wine to play WoW (i know WoW lol, i get bored :P ) its just far to choppy, so my questions...

Is it possible to install XP as a duel boot withought getting rid of Ubuntu first? I know you can do it the other way around by installing Ubuntu over the top, but id rarther not do it that way if possible.

And also i know you can view files on a Windows partition when on Ubuntu, but can this be done the other way too? Or would it be faster to copy the game folder to windows from inside ubuntu?

Thanks a lot

You can install xp after ubuntu, you just need to beable to reinstall grub from a live cd (there should be an ubuntu guide floating about as i can only really explain it with a gentoo live cd, which is a bit more effort).

Your going to have to reinstall WoW in windows though, windows will need the registry entrys that come with the game installation and you cant just copy them over (had to explain that a lot).

Ooo also you can view ubuntu files in windows with the ext3 for windows drivers (might be ext2 but they are pretty much the same apart from 3 being journeled)

from my experience you can just copy the whole wow directory and it works, it may ask for the odd .dll file but a quick google usually finds them.

Thanks a lot.

Are you sure about the re-installing WoW? As in the past i have backed up my WoW folder from my main PC onto a external HDD (just the folder) then back again after a format, opened the game and away i went.
