duel channel question

have i got this rite....
only two dimm slots are duel channel on a 4 slot m/b.
so if there was 4 dimm's only 1 pair will be duel channel.

sry if this is a noob question.

No.

If all slots are used, with matching ram then, (motherboard problems excepted) it should be dual channel.

Yup the motherboard has two memory channels, each channel attached to two slots. So with four DIMMs installed there would be two memory modules per channel, and you'd be running dual channel.

As said above as long as theyre all the same type of ram

IE not different sizes etc.

thx guys,

I dont see any problem with adding in another pair of Corsair Twin X XMS3200C2PRO 1GB to my existing pair to give me 2GB then when i upgrade my s754 M/B.

Now too SLi or not to SLi.........................
