Duel channel

Just fitting my 2x 4gb Samsung green into a z77 board. The manual says if I want to run in duel channel to pick 2 specified slots.

Daft question I am sure but should I be running in duel channel.

Yes, ideally you will need to run dual channel

Yes. Z77 is designed to get the best from RAM by running in this mode. Usually the furthest socket from the CPU and the second closest are the ones to use.

Yes but remember that if you have four slots named such as A0 A1 B0 B1 then you want to install both DIMM's in either A0 and B0 or A1 and B1. Installing them in say A0 and A1 will likely not activate dual channel mode.

Duel channel will stop one of the DIMMs working, perhaps even kill it. Dual channel would be the better option.

it tells you in the mobo manual what slots to use for any config..
