duel monitors

hi guys my second monitir has randomly started playing up and doesnt get a signal unless i unselect extend my desktop to this monitor and then reselect it. then it will work untill the monitors go to sleep and then it will not come back on any ideas?

pc spec

i5-2500k @3.3
8gb ddr3
nvidia geforce 560ti
vista 64bit service pack 2
nvidia driver 8.17.12.8562

Need way more information:
basic pc specs
gpu type
drivers ect

Maybe it's because the dual monitors are in a "duel" with each other?

Seriously, if you want help here you need to be specific in the first place. We still don't even know what monitor it is you have...

main monitor is a lg e2260 and the second monitor is a old acer al1714. and appologies for the lack of info i didnt think that the make of monitor would make a difference
