Hey all,

got a new rig as described in sig, and i seem to have a problem with my BFG 7900 OC (670mhz) with texture and geometry corruption.

Please see BF2 and CSS screenys:

BF2 at 800x600 medium settings, filtering disabled.

CSS at 1600x1200 6AA, 16AA max settings.

I have tried the 83.20 drivers that came with it, the 84.20s, the 84.21s and the tweaked ones from guru3d.

Is this likly to be a drivers problem or is it looking like being a duff board?

It dosent appear to be overheating as when i checked straight after the corruption appears the card was showing as 43 degrees c.

Any help much appriciated.

Thanks

MC

dodgy memory imo and that's far worse than what mine was, if you've had it less than 7 days you can return it for full refund which is what i did.

On another forum there was a thread about this. It typically shows up in BF2 only so people jump on the EA/Dice bashing wagon or nVidia drivers wagon. The problem was with XFX cards only though.

I however have an XFX card which is factory overclocked and I've pushed it to silly speeds and I get no issues with BF2 on the latest patch and the 84.20 drivers.

It is definitely a dodgy batch of chips on some boards, as people have RMA'd their cards and their new cards have run fine without a reinstall etc.

Try downclocking the RAM and GPU on the card and see if it clears up. If you half the values and still get bad artefacts you definitely have a dodgy card.

I've recived an identical BFG 7900 GTX Oc this morning and have been running 3DMark2003 and 2006 pretty much constantly all morning and over lunch and there hasnt been a single issue with corrupting graphics :D

Looks liek it was a dodgy card!! will be send ing back tomorrow for a refund.

Cheers Chaps!
