Hi guys,
Finally got internet sorted with Aquiss. I got a new router TPLink AXE5400, all set up and working through the PC via ethernet.... now when I connect wifi I can connect but no internet access. Reboot, reset, turned it off etc etc but still the same.
Now I had a TP-Link TL-SG108 8 port switch connected which I removed and the wifi started to work, so plugged the switch back in a different lan port and wifi went awol again. I Did afew speedtests, 490meg down, so top marks there for lan near the router but pants upstairs on Wifi on Mac mini and Windowsp PC (2.4ghz / 20-50meg). This router will be going back as I think the ethernet ports are faulty.
Before I go and get the same one again is there any others I should look at with decent Wifi range?

Thanks

Unplug the Powerline, so that it is just Router > Switch > PC. Try Wi-Fi then, if it's not working, plug the PC into the router and disconnect the switch.

Ah someone else moving to Aquiss! My move will be done soon. That's a decent router. If you're able to run cables, you can always setup some wireless access points to extend range without meshing.

Unplugged the switch (TP-Link TL-SG108) and working so far, I will try and plug the powerline back and see what it does. I'll try the switch again tomorrow, i'm sure it doesn't matter which port the router to switch cable goes into?

I can send the router back to the rainforest site (even though ive had it 6 weeks) for a refund....as I chatted to some woman who told me the exact things I had already tried.

Ben - Yep should have been up and on the web 2 weeks ago, but thanks to the 3rd party installers messed about and took the pi55 installing the single cable......MD Martin at Aquiss has been spot on through emailing him.

I have 2 Devolo 1200 powerlines which I was using with my Billion router so hoping to use them again as wifi is pants. Down the line will install ethernet cables up to the room once the house goes through renovation sometime this year.

Not sure mate, I sent the AXE5400 back and replaced it with a AX7800, which has given me much better wifi signal and speeds!
The powerlines and everything else I connect to the switch work as they should now, I did get a TP-Link AX3000 wifi extender to rule out the powerlines but that thing was utter pants, it couldn't even pick up signal in my room from the router.

Just need some new phones to setup with Voip.
