anyone got one/riden one?
i'm looking for a learner bike, and fancy either the duke or the varadero but as the duke is quite new I was wondering what folk think of it, I've had a shot of a varadero and it's a nice size and I like the riding position.....happy for any other suggestions too!

cheers

I the Duke is a lot smaller and the riding position a bit more cramped. It's one of the nicest 125's about but don't expect it to be lightning as it is only a 125. If you're contempt with 125 style speed then it would be decent.

While they're very nice looking 125s they're still only 125s and a lot of money for what you get IMO.

If you're content with a varadero then i'd recommend that over the duke.

yeah, I realise the power is lacking on most of the 125s but thems the breaks, might look into doing the direct access course and just hire a 125 for lessons rather than splashing the cash too early!

normally the bike is provided. i payed £450 for 4 days, tests bike and the use if needed for gear (already bought my own).

i was also looking at the duke125 but waited a couple of months more and in the end sprang for a brand new street triple 675 as the money is not that different.

do it once. do it right.
