Duke Nukem 3D

So I want to play this again, are there any updated versions of the original Duke? I saw someone post a picture of "eDuke32". Is this the best version to play Duke on a Windows 7 PC?

It says I need the base files.

Now here is something freaky. I actually still have my original copy of Duke Nukem 3D (which I think is DOS based).

Is it that version which eduke needs? or has there been a "windows"-ised version of the game?

Yeah it probably just needs the .GRP file from DOS version.

Ok so I installed it and it works great but using the original sprites. According to this eduke32, there is a polymer patch or something? I tick it but it still renders 2D sprites.

Whereas this dude has 3D sprites as follows:

Any ideas folks?

EDIT: Actually I think I may have it (need to get the High res packs).
