Hi all,

Anyone know the order in which the duke nukem games came out?

Also, anyone know if they have been released for free? Ive found the shareware versions for free, but im guessing they are short versions of the game that you then have to unlock/buy.

Duke Nukem - PC
II - PC
3D - PC MAC PS
64 - N64
Time To Kill - PS
Zero Hour - N64
Land of Babes - PS
Manhatten Project - PC
...
Forever - PC eventually

You missed out a version that appeared on the saturn. It was also 3D. It was actual a closer port from the PC to console than the Playstation version to :)

ive found the DN 3D atomic package going cheap, am i right in thinking that this is the original 3d game but with added missions?

might pull out moy old version, shame they didn't realis the engine source like doom, soom of the 3d dooms are very impresive and duke nukem with proper 3d models could have been brilliant.

Dude I'm looking for these 3D dooms for my Dad but aren't having any luck finding them... any chance you can link to them for me? :D

Erm, they did. There are loads of OpenGL versions and ports of it. You need the original game to use them as the game itself is still not freeware, the ports use the data files. There's high res textures and I think there's 3D models to replace the sprites.

DN3D was awesome - played over the network at School on lunch breaks :D The level designer tool they released was also a doddle to use and make some awesome levels with.

Shame it crashed a lot and sometimes resulted in your level being corrupted. You have to make sure you save regularly and save to a new file every single time.

Yeah used to give me a huge fright when it did that, I was only little, all of a sudden a black screen with masses of text will come shooting up.

it wasn't the very first duke nukem then :p

the first one was a sidescrolling platformer like commander keen, from the early 90s

Speaking of 3d doom conversions, this is the best I've seen, requires a fairly capable pc, but it does look nice.
