Dumb Question about which PCI slot

Its been 15 years since ive built a pc so excuse the dumb question but... I have a Radeon R290 and im unsure which slot to put it in on my mobo

Is it the slot that's labelled PCIEX16?

You will want to put it in the PCI x16 slot closest to the CPU since it runs at a higher speed.

That slot is the 2nd one down from the CPU.

The other x16 slot would work, but it runs at a slower speed that the one highlighted.
