Dumb question need answer please

Getting a couple of fans that don't come with screw but with these pieces of rubber instead about 3 inches long.

do you just pull these through the holes and trim of the excess or am i better off using screws?

I have used the rubber mounts in the past and not had any issues. I left the excess on just in case you change / remove the fan at a later date.

They are damping mounts. You should find that there are some small rigid tacks in there too. You push the long rubber mounts through the fan and case, and then push the tacks in to expand the mounts which will then grip firmly.
