Dumb question of the day...

This is probably a really obvious thing to most of you, but i've only just got my first dual core system. My last system was a P4 2.4ghz/9800 radeon pro and saw me up until last week. Anyway, now for the dumb question, do I need to set affinity for the processors when gaming or should they take care of it automatically?

I'd just let Windows look after it unless you are having problems and then intervene to set the affinity. Others may think differently though.
