I'm using windows XP and I can't for see my RAW files?
I'm using a Canon 20D, I took pictures in RAW + Jpegs, lightroom and Picasa can only see the jpg files, using explorer, I can't find them either (tried hidden files view too)

I'm currently downloading Canon's own software (DPP), I'm just wondering am I missing something for Lightroom to see/edit RAW files?

Canon 20D chucks out .CR2 files IIRC, so they should definitely be visible as files in explorer. If you can't see the actual files, then the chances are that the camera never wrote them. Double check your settings.

I've double checked it, it was defo set at RAW+jpg L - I've even taken a couple of test shots on RAW only. Camera can see it but explorer sees nothing :(

Are they still on the camera? IIRC the Canon driver doesn't support the viewing etc of RAWs across the USB link. Get yourself a decent card reader, they're peanuts to buy and far easier than using a USB1 connection to the camera.

Oh... that's annoying.
(I thought the Canon 20D uses USB2.0? Anyway, I've checked it all and no way I can view RAW, many suggested Card Reader.)

More money spending then~

Edit:

YES! I can finally see my RAW files now - but only through Canon Viewer Utility (DPP however can't see it) but I can't transfer or event edit the format on Canon Viewer Utility. :(

Ah, yes, you didn't mention you were pulling them over the usb link - afaik you can't grab RAW files over this. Card reader = win.

If your running windows XP then you need to install this to be able to veiw Raw files.

That didn't work :(

Looks like it's to get a card reader then. Might get a card for my Laptop instead - so it can stay in the slot without the need for a cable e.t.c.

My 350D supports RAW over USB. That's the only way I've ever tried getting them off. However, your suggestion is still infintely better (not to mention much faster!).

I've always just plugged my camera in, clicked open folder to view files and highlighted my .cr2 files and moved them onto my laptop.

edit - I thought you had the 30D instead of the 20D and assumed that would be the same. I'm guessing it's the specific 20D canon driver than doesn't support it. I mis read rpstewart in thinking that it was canons general driver than the 20D specific. silly me!

Funny why the 20D don't do the same, unless I've removed something from my Windows XP? (I used nLite on it and removed a bunch of "unwanted stuff")

What OS are you using Kol?
