Hi

I'm sure this is a dumb question but thought I'd ask anyway :)

What are the drawbacks of of buying a cheapish 1080p LCD-TV (say 32") and using it as a PC monitor? This would obviously be cheaper than having to pay for a large PC monitor.

You should be able to run the desktop at 1080p right? I guessing you may have to game at 768p unless you have a beast of a graphics card... Any other problems?

There are no 1080p 32" screens as of yet, most are 1366x768. Monitors and HDTVs are becoming ever more similar, the main remaining differences are dot pitch and connectivity. Be careful when choosing a HDTV for monitor purposes since you want true 1:1 pixel output to maximise image quality (especially apparent on small text).
