About DD materials etc, theres always treasure hunting as u can get a bunch of stuff that way, tho best at night then u can see the markers better in the dd.

This game fun for someone who only wants to play a couple of hours here and there? Reading the steam reviews are putting me off due to people complaining about the amount of time required to invest to keep your base/home intact.

It's more akin to an MMO, As it is an online game, So it is a time sink.

I have tried a couple of times to get into this and could never really click with it, losing my base twice for some reason I'm not quite sure of may have had a bearing on it. Also as I haven't played for ages suspect it's like starting again. I'm playing KCD2 again so may try this again once I finish it.

It's the type of game I really want to play and like so want to give it another shot, I had a similar issue with Witcher 3 and eventually played it and loved that.

Sounds like me with no man sky, tried starting it 3 times, i REALLY want to like it but struggle.

My advice if you like Dune is get it, Enjoy the Dune setting, The stories, The voice acting, The landscape, The atmosphere and base building.

You can easily craft a tax free base and fuel it for 21 days at a time and if you want to just say only play for a few hours once every few weeks then you can now craft the base backup tool that literally packs up your base for you, Including everything inside it, To put down somewhere else or if you are taking a 7+ day break.

On a fun sidenote I decided to taunt shai-huluid, Put all my clothing, weapons etc... in my base and turned my shield on to aggro him

So i had more or less given up on this game until i noticed some vids popping up on my YT feed and wow they have totally overhauled so much and added a real endgame.
I decided to redownload and log in but my base that took days was gone as expected along with everything in storage plus vehicles etc.
I couldnt be arsed rebuild a base until i watched the video below and decided to build just a box base for the basics and im glad i did.

Apart from the vast endgame now all players get a welcome back pack with materials and resources up to and including the tier of progression you go to before you quit.
They also added FINALLY a base save tool to just pick up and drop, tax is now totally gone, no fuel usage on the overland map,free respec every 6 hours , many more but those stick out as huge QOL changes to me.
Anyways just saw that nobody mentioned this huge update yet so thought id link this vid.
Im really enjoying it again and running dungeons for gear and other progressions systems is a blast.

I have started playing this again, using the public test client that has the single player enabled now, the official release next month I believe, and I'm enjoying it a lot more now. Solo for me seems great and following the "story" path to unlock seems like it more enjoyable for me. Also not having to keep logging in to make sure I don't lose my base etc is a bonus.

I have gotten back into it but solo\single player and enjoying it. Working through the guided unlock mode but I enjoy the theme and it may become a bit repetative but think I'm going to keep playing to see the later game. I like it so much I changed my negative steam review to positive

I payed with a few people, and for months no one has played. 300 hours, but it just got boring. Their delay on the expansion hasn't helped.

There's a new free update which adds a lot of be content on a new map. I have been sinking a lot into the solo and working through the story with some bar and survival along the way.
Still feels a bit empty and re-used locations but this new map could spice it up a bit
