dungeon saga

I would grab this if a DM wasn't required.

I'm still on the lookout for a decent fantasy co-op dungeon crawler. It seems Warhammer Quest is the only game that ticks all the boxes, though half-decent (often incomplete) copies go for £100+ on ebay.

My kickstarter arrived last week (dropped $280 on this), excited but in the middle of a house move. AFAIK you don't need a DM.

I picked up a copy via Kickstarter as well.

Mantic ran some demo games down our club about a month ago. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to give it a proper test run.

The models should be great for any kind of dungeon crawler RPG too.

Beasts of war have some gameplay vids. I'm prolly gonna get it.

The companion book also shows how to create your own characters with other models you have so sounds pretty good

I used to love warhammer quest, would like to pick this up but problem for me is finding people willing to play and time as I seem to always be working these days! :(

Unfortunately Quest is hugely flawed. Really tough to start and then got easy quickly, although still my favourite GW game by far.

You can play this with an AI deck for the overlord (enemy) which means you don't need a DM. The character creation is really simple but you only get to choose 1 skill of 3 available (1 for your chosen race and 2 for your chosen class) which means there's hundreds of mini classes available, ableit mostly similar.

Really looking forward to playing this, got a gaming night on Sat 21 November, will be DMing/Overlording it for some friends.

Played a few games over the weekend. I ran as the overlord and we did the stock quests from the start, but the third with own generated characters. Also tested the invisible AI and random dungeon which was pretty simple to do.

Good fun, balance seems great. Going to spend some time reading up on the rules I wasn't sure of and the campaign stuff and get a campaign on the go soon.

i should be getting mine sometime this week.

i was going to order the adventurers companion to go with it but by all accounts its having a reprint as it was full of errors. Mantic got quite a bashlash apparently

There's a PDF available although I wouldn't want to share it. Basically the book refers to pages, but instead of the page numbers it just has XXX (i.e. please see page XXX) and there was a fluff misprint for one of the races. Not a show stopper but not sure how they let that get by.

ive got a updated pdf of the adventurers companion if thats what you mean. just need the IO cards etc now although id really like a hardback version

It would be nice to have a digital representation of all the cards to be honest, better still, an app to support the game!

that is a very good idea. would work well for the invisible overlord in particular much like xcom.

Does anyone know of a roadmap for expansion releases? So far there seem to be 4 but I've got no idea when they are due for general release

Late reply but Return of Valendor is out for this Christmas and the rest are supposed to be staggered release over the course of the next year.

I am actually considering selling my KS, not because it is a bad game but it has gone unplayed in the several weeks I have had it. My daughter appears to have lost interest due to her love of Zombicide and Marvel Legendary and my another key player has just bought most of SW: Armada in one hit.

I now have Black Plague and 7 Sins: The Others is due next year too. Shame as DS has a solid core rules system and great minis.
