Duplicate Ext Drives Win10

I’ve wondered about this myself mate, it’s proper annoying isn’t it!
From what I gather, it’s not actually a bug but a rather daft design choice by Microsoft. Windows treats external drives as both a "Storage Device" and a "Removable Drive".
This PC is meant to show your core system hierarchy, while the separate icon further down the navigation pane is meant to give you quick, independent access to removable media so you don't have to keep expanding folders.
The trouble is, because they put both sections in the same sidebar view, it just looks like a cluttered mess. It’s a classic case of Microsoft trying to be helpful but completely missing the mark. Glad the registry fix exists to sort it out, honestly!
