Just wondering if anyone has faced this and knows of a solution in Windows 8 Pro with Media Center.
I like to rip my CD's to flac and mp3 so that I have a lossless format to play in the home and the option of syncing either lossless or mp3 to a portable media player.
Both WMP and WMC both look at the default music library which isn't too much of a problem for WMP as you can browse music by drive folder and I have lossless and mp3 stored separately on HDD. However its a pain that WMC also looks at the music library as it results in everything that you have in multiple formats being shown multiple times in WMC. If I choose to remove my mp3's that are duplicate of lossless versions from the music library in WMC it makes the change to the underlying music library rather than understanding that I only want that to be the case in WMC.
I can however create a new library and not include the mp3's that are duplicate of lossless versions but is there a way to tell WMC to use this new library instead of the default music library?
I know by default WMP & WMC won't play flac files but I've installed a few things to make that part possible.
