Duplicating a DVD using iMac

Hi,

I have a DVD which I created a while back using iDVD. (It has no copy-protection on it)

I now would like to duplicate it but no longer have the original files.

The DVD autoruns when inserted into my Superdrive or DVD player and performs as expected.

However I have tried to duplicate it following the instructions found here

https://www.podfeet.com/blog/tutorials-5/how-to-duplicate-a-dvd-on-macos-sierra/

with no luck.

The files are copied to the blank DVD (I can see them using Finder) but the disk doesn't auto-run on the iMac or even get recognised in my DVD player.

Can someone please help me with this?

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the response.

I have handbrake, but can't find a pure "Clone" option. It can convert to mp4, but I can't seem to find a way just to make a simple duplicate?

The Make MKV option didn't work :(

Can’t disk utility do this? Make an img of the DVD and then just write it to a new one.

I tried that following the instructions in the OP link.

The files copy across to the DVD but it doesn't autoplay and a stand alone DVD player doesn't recognise the disk

I've purchased DVD Copy and Rebuild Pro from the App Store. It was £10, but it does what I want.

Thanks to Chris and Feek for taking time to respond.
