Does anyone make durable, hard wearing trail shoes anymore?

Over the last few years I've been through three pairs of Salomon AX PRO 3D and a couple of pairs of something very similar from Adidas. Looking through Amazon reviews of similar trail shoes from New Balance and Skechers suggests again they wear out in a few months - of just walking to work and back!

Can anyone recommend a hard wearing trainer? Or should I just get four pairs of cheap-o £20 things instead of one pair of £80 trainers?

My Inov8s have lasted just under 4 years so far and that's with some pretty hard abuse. The soles are getting a bit worn and one of the lace eyelets broke when I fell coming down a moraine but apart from that they're still holding up.

Another vote for Inov8. I have a pair of abused Trail Talons with 800km on. The upper is starting to deteriorate, but I'm expecting to get to 1000km out of them.

agree with mileage expectations - but it's as much the sole+grip and cushioning which is shot at that point;

Been using asics gel sonoma 3's for 3/4 years, 1000K/1year , them last 2 pairs are sonoma 4's which slightly cheaper at ~£50 in sales haven't lasted as well, 9months.

I guess it depends on terrain too. I try and run on as much hard rocky terrain as possible, and will often scrape the uppers against jagged rocks which meant my old Saucony Peregrines took a hell of a beating, and the uppers had some tears along the sides whereas the soles were in great condition after ~400 miles.

I would imagine they'd have lasted much longer had i only ran on muddy paths.

Thanks guys, I actually had a pair of Inov8 around 10-12 years ago and yeah - they were great.

I have a pair of inov8 fell running shoes - lasting well. The almost zero weight trainers by toe nail in the sock rubbed a cut into the upper mesh.

I like inov8 stuff.

Mate swears by his Innov8 G300's, I'll go out on a limb and say hoka speedgoat 5 are another great trail option.
