nonsense, it all depends on your mobo. i don't need drivers to install windows on my sata drive. :)

Well not exactly. The drivers are already there in some way aren't they? So you still need the drivers to get the SATA stuff to work, you just don't need them at the point of install.:p
 
I just asked Fernando1 (the guy who does the troubleshooting for nLite) and he said that you don't need SATA drivers if you are installing WIndows XP SP2. So i guess they finally added them.
 
It definitely depends on the type of board you have and actually the type of sata controller that is used on that board. Some boards / controllers are fine using the standard MS sata drivers within XP SP2 , others arent. Obviously more recent boards (more recent than SP2) seem to be better, but its the controller thats the key
