I did a search and could not find anything on this so I thought I would start something.

Dust: An Elysian Tail is the last game (I think) to hit the XBLA summer of arcade.

Dust: An Elysian Tail is an action RPG video game by Humble Hearts. The game was originally targeted for the Xbox 360 Indie Games channel,[2] but upon winning the 2009 Microsoft Dream.Build.Play Challenge, it was awarded a contract for an Xbox Live Arcade release.

The blurb: Immerse yourself in a gorgeous hand-painted world on a search for your true identity. As the mysterious warrior, Dust, you must master the ancient Blade of Ahrah to battle dozens of enemies with an intuitive combat system, take on a variety of quests, discover powerful upgrades throughout the massive, open world, and uncover the story of an ancient civilization on the brink of extinction as you fight to uncover your own past.

The game costs 1200 MSP's which is pretty much a standard for a full arcade title these days.

I got this game on release and I have happily sunk in about 5 hours so far in a few sittings. There are plenty of likeable characters and the art style is jaw dropping. My only gripes so far are voice acting, while very good, can seem a little over dramatic at times. And I am also finding it a little too easy on the normal setting. Although I guess this gives me the excuse to go and replay it again on hard for all the achievement points!

So for those that have a few points spare, pick this game up if you are a fan of hack n slash RPG combat. You will not be dissapointed.

Definately one of the better purchases i've made on the live arcade. Very easy to sink time into and the combat mechanics are a bit deeper than they first appear. I liked the comment from Fidgit early on in the game, that went something along the lines of "Mash the buttons!".

The game itself looks fantastic and the voice acting and music is of reasonable quality especially given its an arcade title.

For a game that was mostly created by one dude, this is high quality stuff that rivals most bigger team productions. And you can definitely tell the creator is a massive fan of Vanillaware's games.
