Due to the previous tenants of this house not cleaning it for 2 years, it's unbelievably dusty here even 9 months after I've moved in (and cleaned every other day!).

My old thermaltake case had some nice dust filters on the front intake fan that caught the worst of the dust, but my new lian li (PC7) only has the grill at the front that doesn't catch hold of much. Already after a fortnight it's covered and I'm worried about it building up in my pc all over my new hardware :(

So a) What's the best way to prevent the dust getting in? and b) what's the best thing to clean it out?

I'm not that worried about my CPU cooler and the dust settling on things in there (easy enough to clean) it's more the graphics card / psu where you can't really get into it to clean!

Cheers guys :)

I have found that the closer the pc is to the floor the more prone it is to getting clogged with dust so if possible try not to have it sitting right on the floor.

For cleaning out, get some air dusters makes getting the worst of dust out of psu/gfx/cpu etc far easier.

I put a cheap pair of tights from a supermarket. Cut the legs and then bunch the holes together with two cable ties. Then erm stretch the err lol "gusset" area over the fan and tie it back.

It does work but in my case needs cleaning almost everyweek!!
