Dust Filters - Worth it?

I've had no experience with these before :rolleyes:

but do they sacrifice performance? Almost all of my system fans are exhaust fans anyway, however is it worth a try?

They will obviously impede some of the airflow and you will still need to clean them rather than the whole of the inside of the case. But I think its worth it for the clean case myself.

I have a antec 1200 that come with its own fliters the ammount of dust they stop is crazy, i've had it about 6 months and i havn't had to clean case inside once yet.

Might give it a try then, dust isn't normally too bad for me because I'm always trying to change something in the computer

just buy some tights and stretch them slightly over you fans, they are cheap, work wonders and you can cut to any size

Filters have been a godsend to me. I have them on the bottom and front intake.

I clean them once a month and the hardware has little or no dust on it.

How do they attach? If I have fans inside my case, connected by long screws through a radiator, could I attach these filters to the outside, and remove them easily to clean them without disassembling everything?

@The Halk: I think they just screw on to the fan, unsure though.

i've used tights on my fans for years, a quick hoover and the dust is cleared. can also stretch them to cover all the vents in the case

Dust filters are a must. Especially if you have a Antec 900 / 1200
