i might try again on my 120mm's once i get the psu for my case, might try some speak grille mesh too an may just buy a "fan filter" from some site and test to see which one (if any) dont restrict the flow that much
 
How's how about a couple of layers of fishnet stockings, that's what the filters look like anyway
 
Hmm saw this last night or was it early this morning? :o

Anyway I have a pretty thick dust filter on my Akasa 120mm fan and it gets pretty clogged up. I cleaned it the other week and my case temp dropped by about 3-4 oC and my CPU by about 1-2oC. Not sure whether I should take the filter out and have lower temps but dusty case innards or keep the filter on and try to remember to clean it out. :o
 
ive just bought myself the 900, very happy with it except 2 things, 1: the fans pulling in dust and 2: my cables werent long enough!!!!
but have done the tight thing with another case wand it worked wonders, double layering is good they so thin air get thro anyway.
will have to buy some new tights !!!! for my 900

I've used them and it's very good at its job, very minimal dust going into the case but there is hardly any air going into the case as well. So that means fan spins faster = noisier.

It works differently than I thought too. It doesn't show you in the pic but there's actually a front cover there to hold the filter against the inner grill which is screwed onto the fan/case, the idea is that if needed you only need to take the cover off and clean the filter without having to take your screwdriver out. Not sure if it's the same one they sell here at ocuk or maybe I just got a different akasa filter.

As suggested just use tights :p

I got these from the US,ran the pc for a few months and checked for dust and very little had got into the case and my temps where fine on both loops in my watercooling.

@ sasso, not sure what tights your using but the ones im using hardly restrict air at all once they are fitted. cant remember what i've got but they work well....probably some pretty pollys :P
