Dust Filters

Hi

Does anyone use a dust filter on there case fans?. Reason i ask is that i have very good cooling in my case but also gather lots of dust & as its a clear case you can see all of it... I have bin looing at the filters but dont want to effect the cooling of my case any pointers please thanks..

ive got dust filters on all my fan's (antec p190)

havent noticed a difference in temp's since they all came with the case.

Or you could battle the duxt by turning the pressure inside your case form what i pressume to be negative pressure if you have lots of dust to positive pressure, altough it wont alleviate dust all together it will certainly help reduce it

I use a dust filter, and the case still fills with dust. Such is life.

ANy filter which is any good will drop the aitflow in the case. It will vary however from fan to fans.

Fans with good air pressure won't be affected by that much whereas a Noctua S12 for example will drop to almost zero airflow.

I used to have dust filters on the intake fans on my akasa eclipse, took them out as one was in a kama bay, which meant dismantling the case, unscrewing the bay to get the filter out, same with bottom intake, also lowered temps a few degrees. I now use compressed air to clean the fans and case of what little dust they gather, and keep the room nice and clean with regular vacuming.

It really could do with them lol.

Hey BIGBC,

that's weird? . . . the dust-filter for the two front 120mm intake fans should be situated just behind the front bezel :confused:

If for some reason your case didn't come with one get onto Antec and they will send you one! :cool:

Our use women's leg tights, they work well as filters also!

+1 and you just throw them away and replace.

Don't use fishnets though.. Although they might have that erotic appeal, the holes are too big

I used to use dust filters but found that it didn't improve matters much as there was still dust getting in the case so i've stopped using them.

Also the dust filters stopped some airflow into my case and, as a consequence, my CPU temperature rose a few degrees!
