dust

my brother uses a can of compressed air to get dust off of boards, it's quick and easy, but costs a bit of money.

I use cotton swabs to remove dust from fans, but i usually can't be bothered to dust the boards, unless the dust is getting into spare slots, then careful use of a straw attached to the hoover usually does the trick. :)

dust has in the past seriously affected my system, tbh on my next build i'll be using a P182 or something with filters to cut it down.

I use a brush with long hair, with the vacum cleaner 30cm+ on the side. Be a bit careful of static, but otherwise it works really well to clean the parts.
Compressed air also works, but leaves a deposit unless you get the even more expensive (and less powerful) dry air one.

Don`t be tempted to take it down to your mate`s garage and blow it out with a 120psi airline. It kills your components.

Also don`t ask me how i know not to do this :)

:confused:I have used this method for years on many pcs, never had a problem
IMO far safer than having a hoover, with the risk of static, anywhere near a pc:)

I use my dad's air compressor, quick blast over the rad and internal.
Never had a problem, thing is not hols to close as you could blast a few chips off
