I recently bought this Laptop, didnt really need it, but it was too cheap to say no to.
Its an i7 Laptop, only 1.6Ghz I accept but thats fine. Its got ATI HD 6750 graphics so capable for what I can use it for ( I would hope ) and sure, its only got 4GB but again, thats plenty for my needs.
Now, I have on my other HP, changed the DVDRW for a second HD, and after some decisions, I have done the same with this one... Used the caddy from the 6730 but the screw mount off its own DVD and hey presto, I now have 2 HDs.
So, its got a 60GB SSD for C: and its own 500GB HDD for D:
I have a 1TB Hybrid Drive on its way to replace the 500GB but for now, its the 500
The thing is, that I throw some games at it, it seems to play them just fine, but I get the occasional glitch.
A glitch or two here or there, I can live with, but this glitches every what 5 to 10 seconds, and whats worse, is that it does this no matter what its playing.
For example, UnReal Tournament Classic. When I first played this, it was flawless on my Cyrix333 in software mode and then when I got my first 3DFX Card ( Orchid Righteous ( Still got - LOL) ) and this Laptop plays it fine, but then it glitches in places.
Then I try UT2K4 and 2K7 ( UT3 ) and it plays those just fine but with the glitches.
Similarly, BattleField 3 - plays perfect but with a quick glitch every 5 to 10 seconds ?
If it was not for these stupid little glitches, it would be playing every game I want it to. Sure, not as well as my desktop no, but certainly well enough for when Im out and about you know.
It makes no difference whether I use high or low settings or high or low rez, nothign seems to help at all.
Any clues?
