present on to a dvd as a presentation
with music and the photos rotating and
being able to play on a normal dvd player
whats the best softwear or program to do this

thank you very much for any help ;) ;)

I had to do this a while ago. I used Adobe Premier Elements. Although this was probably complete overkill for the task in hand It did the job beautifully- without having to bounce backward and forward into other programs.

I've done quite a few of these in the past for myself and some friends. Theres lots of programs to choose from . All video editing packages will allow you too add still pictures , set transitions ,add music and write to disk [DVD or VCD] Pinnacle is one of the easy ones to use and Serif Movie + [these are maily for video editing ] Proshow Gold ,theres an excellent one by Canopus , Pics to TV ,Memmories on TV [these ones are designed mainly for photos] to name a few.You can get a demo from the Canopus site. But ,I think itwill only allow you to add 1 mp3 track [you could join a few together before you start] it saves the final as a .wmv . I then add these to SonicDVDIt and author it to disk .The effects onCanopus are stunning ,pictures can drop in from the top ,fade in or out and appear in a opening book form .Well worth checking this on out.
